The lifeless body of Eusebio was located in the Barceloneta neighborhood, in the Ciutat Vella district, around eleven o'clock at night. The Mossos d'Esquadra confirmed the finding and ruled out any signs of criminality. The Arrels Foundation, which regularly visited him, confirmed his identity.
“"His loss occurs during these days of intense cold and saddens us because it adds to that of other people who lived on the street and who have died in recent weeks."
This death follows that of another homeless man found dead the same day in a parking lot on Torres i Bages street in Badalona. According to Arrels data, Eusebio is the fifth person living on the street in Barcelona to die in the last five weeks, highlighting the severity of the situation.
The organization has taken the opportunity to make an urgent appeal to Catalan municipalities, requesting that sufficient resources be made available so that homeless people can take shelter from the low temperatures. They criticize that Barcelona only expands 100 places when an estimated 2,000 people live on the streets of the city.
