Terrassa creator Jordi Grau honors Disfrutar restaurant chefs with three big-head figures

The artist crafted the figures of Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch, and Mateu Casañas commissioned by the gastronomic association Casacas Rojas.

Terrassa artist Jordi Grau created three big-head figures (capgrossos) of chefs Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch, and Mateu Casañas, leaders of Barcelona's Disfrutar restaurant, recently named the best in the world.

The commission came from the gastronomic association Casacas Rojas, a private collective that organizes high-end culinary gatherings. This is not the first time they have relied on Grau, as two years ago he created the figures for the renowned Torres brothers.

The figures debuted at a private party near the Disfrutar restaurant, featuring a special, secretive staging that completely surprised the chefs. This project uniquely combines Catalan festive culture with international haute cuisine.
Jordi Grau, who works with diverse personalities such as Rigorberta Bandini and Mushkaa, notes that his annual average is about ten figures, but this year he has already completed fifteen, in addition to giants and other figures.
