The Hobonichi Techo planners have become a cult item, generating worldwide bestseller anticipation. The Japanese company detailed that the 2024 edition sold over 900,000 units in a hundred countries. This product, which already exceeds 10 million units sold globally, can only be purchased in Catalonia at the Entropía store (Aribau, 127 street), being one of only two stores in all of Spain and one of ten in Europe with this exclusivity.
“"I always say it is the Hermès of planners. They are products of superior quality. Even the paper, called Tomoe River, allows writing with a fountain pen and drawing with watercolor despite being very thin."
The 'spring' edition covers the period from April to March, following the Japanese school season, and officially launches at 9 a.m. (Barcelona time). This print run, often in Japanese, is mainly acquired by collectors or those who missed the annual edition, which sells out quickly every September 1. The owner, JingJing Yang, assures that customers "go crazy" for the novelties, such as covers featuring collaborations with manga artists like Junji Ito.
The Entropía stationery store, whose name is inspired by the fight against chaos, was founded by JingJing Yang, a scientist of Chinese origin who decided to change her professional path. Despite difficult beginnings a decade ago, the store, measuring only 70 square meters, invoiced over one million euros last year. The turning point was the pandemic, when the establishment boosted its presence on Instagram, where its stationery product videos have reached nearly two million views.
