One of the most popular options is the ascent to the Monastery of Sant Jeroni de la Murtra, located in the Serralada de la Marina in Badalona (Barcelonès). This ancient monastery, founded in 1416, stands out for its monumental Gothic complex, which includes a defense tower, the cloister, and the 15th-century church. The route, starting in the Montigalà neighborhood, takes approximately 40 minutes.
In Garraf, the botanical itinerary of La Pleta, in Sitges, offers a circular route of 1.3 km that can be completed in about two hours. This trail, partially adapted for people with reduced mobility, showcases the characteristic vegetation of the Garraf Natural Park. A mandatory stop is the Celler Güell, an architectural complex designed by the architect Antoni Gaudí.
The third proposal is located in Maresme, specifically in Cabrera de Mar. At the top of the Burriac hill stands a medieval castle ruin offering panoramic views of the sea and the region. Access to the fortress is via a 6.5 km route starting at the Parc de la Serralada Litoral and lasting approximately three hours.
Individuals and domestic animals may access the natural environment to carry out private leisure activities in low-risk areas.
Current restrictions announced by the Generalitat de Catalunya due to African Swine Fever (ASF) must be considered. Although individual access is permitted in low-risk areas, such as the Serralada de la Marina, organized group activities like popular hikes, mountain races, or collective training sessions are prohibited.
