The city of Barcelona and its metropolitan region will experience the peak of the current heatwave this Wednesday, with maximum temperatures potentially reaching 35 ºC and exceeding them in some areas.

The weather forecast predicts a day marked by sunshine and extremely hot conditions, with temperatures potentially reaching 35 ºC in Barcelona and even approaching 40 ºC in areas of Vallès. The night will offer little respite, with minimums unlikely to drop below 26-27 ºC and possibly remaining above 30 ºC until dawn.
During the day, a rapid temperature increase is expected from early morning, peaking around 3 PM. This intense heat will persist for many hours, with numerous parts of the city recording temperatures above 35 ºC, particularly in the higher areas of Barcelona.
From the evening onwards, the arrival of thin, harmless clouds is anticipated, which, rather than cooling the environment, might further hinder nighttime cooling. This extreme heat situation is expected to continue for several more days, with meteorological models indicating no significant change until mid-next week, approximately between July 16th and 18th.
Although a slight and barely perceptible drop in temperatures might be felt on Friday and Saturday, a new rise is expected from Sunday. The week will therefore continue with high temperatures, and the possibility of rain is minimal, despite the presence of more clouds on Friday.
