Barcelona-El Prat Airport welcomed 3,806.895 passengers in January, marking a new monthly record and a 3% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

According to Aena, international travelers reached 2.8 million, growing by 4.8%. Meanwhile, domestic traffic saw a slight decline of 1.9%, reflecting a shift in travel patterns at the Barcelona hub.
Cargo operations also reached a milestone, with 15,611 tons transported, a 16.5% increase. This record was achieved despite a 0.2% drop in total aircraft movements, totaling 24,537 operations during the month.
Other regional airports such as Girona and Reus reported lower figures, with significant decreases in passenger numbers due to winter seasonality and adverse weather conditions affecting general aviation.
