The Barcelona City Council and FC Barcelona have agreed to collaborate on developing management plans to address the massive influx of fans into the city, aiming to ensure neighborhood coexistence.

This initiative stems from a request by Barcelona en Comú, made after uncivil incidents involving Newcastle fans last March. The proposal received broad support in the Presidency and Security Commission, with favorable votes from Junts, ERC, the PP, and the PSC government, while Vox abstained.
The joint plans primarily aim to improve residents' coexistence. Among the anticipated measures are temporary restrictions on the sale of takeaway beverages in glass or can containers, the establishment of protected routes for residents, and the safeguarding of building entrances in the city's most sensitive areas.
This municipal decision coincides with a recent proposal from residents of the Les Corts neighborhood, who have suggested diverting buses along Avenida de Madrid on match days. This measure seeks to maintain public transport service without interruptions, minimizing inconvenience for residents.
