The event, held at the Llotja de Mar, was attended by a prominent Albanian delegation, including the Ambassador of Albania to Spain, the Minister of Economy, and the Minister of Local Government. This meeting is part of the Albanian Prime Minister's institutional visit to Barcelona.
The main objective of the gathering was to create a space for direct dialogue between diplomacy, institutions, and the business community, aiming to identify new avenues for economic cooperation, investment, and business internationalization for Catalan companies. Representatives from various leading companies and institutions, such as Moventia, Fluidra, Sorigué, Roca, the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, and Tech Barcelona, participated in the session.
During the event, participants gained first-hand insight into the strategic priorities of the Albanian Government and explored potential collaborations. At a crucial time for Albania, a candidate country for accession to the European Union, the meeting also served to exchange views on European integration, economic development, and Mediterranean cooperation, highlighting the country's growing role in the Balkans and the Euro-Mediterranean region.
The Barcelona Chamber of Commerce reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening institutional and economic ties with Albania, emphasizing areas such as support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), innovation, participation in European projects, and convergence with community standards. For its part, Àgora Diplomàtica highlighted that this initiative reinforces its commitment to economic diplomacy, facilitating the creation of bridges between governments, institutions, and businesses, and positioning Barcelona as a hub for dialogue and opportunities in the Mediterranean.
