Barcelona's April Fair opens its doors this Friday for its 53rd edition at Parc del Fòrum, offering free access and expanded capacity to ensure visitor comfort.

The festival of Andalusian entities in Catalonia will run for ten days, until Sunday, May 3, featuring a wide array of cultural booths, restaurants, shops, and over a hundred fairground attractions. The organizers have prioritized free access and generous capacity to avoid the inconveniences to residents that occurred in previous editions.
One of the main novelties this year is the expansion of the cultural Village, relocated to an area called 'Plaza Real'. This open-air space will allow for more activities, from flamenco performances to children's entertainment. The Real will feature 86 booths to enjoy Andalusian gastronomy and culture. Two gastronomic days have been scheduled: Salmorejo Day (Saturday, April 25) and Gazpacho Day (Sunday, April 26), in addition to a gastronomic competition on Sunday, April 26.
The fair will close at midnight on weekdays and extend its hours until 3 AM on Thursday, April 30, and until 3:30 AM on Saturdays, April 25 and May 2, as well as Friday, May 1. As safety and prevention measures, a Purple Point for advice and prevention of gender violence, managed by the Trinitat Vella Women's Group, and an LGTBI+ stand will be maintained. Regarding mobility, Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) recommends using the metro and will reinforce line L4 during weekends.

"The FECAC assembly, which includes the different entities, brotherhoods, and cultural centers, has decided to maintain its free access because it is the last year of the contract to hold the April Fair at Parc del Fòrum."

The decision to return to free admission responds to last year's experience, when the Federation of Andalusian Cultural Entities of Catalonia (FECAC) attempted to implement a symbolic three-euro fee, which had to be withdrawn due to the reaction of the fairground operators and initial low attendance. This edition is the last under the current contract with the city council for the use of Parc del Fòrum, and conversations for renewal have already begun. The organization is seeking a more affordable formula for future contracts, considering that FECAC is a non-profit entity with high costs to ensure the quality of the event.
