The incident occurred this Sunday around 5:00 AM, when the Guàrdia Urbana responded to a report of two gunshots. Officers observed a vehicle fleeing the scene and running a red light, initiating a brief pursuit that ended with the arrest of one of the car's occupants near the Matacavalls bridge.
The Mossos d'Esquadra have taken custody of the detainee and are collecting evidence to clarify the exact circumstances of the event.
This incident follows another shooting that occurred approximately two weeks ago in the La Torrassa neighborhood, also in L'Hospitalet.
On May 4th, witnesses alerted the police to detonations on rambla Catalana. On that occasion, the Mossos found five shell casings on the ground and opened an investigation. The Minister of the Interior indicated at the time that the previous shooting was related to drug matters.
