The establishment, known for its interior design that evokes the modernist style and recalls La Pedrera, focuses on traditional Catalan cuisine. This initiative pays tribute to the genius from Reus by fusing his culinary tastes (he was vegetarian) with the natural elements that inspired his works, such as the sea and nature.
One of the first dishes available is ajoblanco (white garlic soup) with red shrimp and citrus fruits. This creation recreates the architect's habit of having a snack of mandarin with milk and dried fruits, incorporating nuts and candied tender garlic, in addition to shrimp marinated in citrus and herb oil.
The ajoblanco is garnished with 'caviar' of olive oil to emphasize the Mediterranean character of both Gaudí and the restaurant, which enjoys privileged views over the beaches of Barcelona.
Other Gaudí-inspired options available include vegan fricandó with Catalan 'picada', dry cod loin rice with grilled 'calçots' and romesco, and the focaccia French toast with burnt Catalan cream, almond 'crumble', and tangerine sorbet with vermouth from Reus.
