The flames, which had necessitated the evacuation of about thirty residents due to the fire's proximity, no longer pose an immediate threat to inhabited areas. The lockdown imposed because of smoke presence has been lifted thanks to improved conditions.
Throughout the night, emergency teams worked on monitoring the fire's flanks and cooling affected areas. Firefighters anticipate the fire will be declared under control in the coming hours, once aerial operations can resume.
According to the latest information, approximately 35 hectares of the natural park have burned. Officials from Civil Protection and the fire departments of Barcelona and the Generalitat will provide updates on the situation this morning.
