The Semaf and CCOO unions have launched a five-day strike at Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), coinciding with the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The industrial action began this February 24th and 25th, with further strikes scheduled for March 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Drivers are demanding increased safety protocols following recent incidents in the regional rail system.
Minimum services have been set at 50% during rush hours for the initial days. However, during the MWC, the Government of Catalonia has mandated a 66% service level to accommodate the influx of international visitors. The Barcelona-Vallès and Llobregat-Anoia lines will experience significant disruptions.
