Russian artist Galia Caren presents the exhibition "La ciutat en traços i moviment" at the Centre Cultural La Bòbila in L'Hospitalet, offering a journey through various metropolises until January 30.

The exhibition, titled La ciutat en traços i moviment (The city in strokes and movement), is a collection of marker illustrations where Galia Caren, a Russian artist based in Barcelona, captures the soul of metropolises such as Amsterdam, Paris, Venice, and Moscow.

"Without people, cities are dead. For example, in the exhibition we can see a couple having a date or people having a drink in a cafeteria; simple things that are the beauty of cities."

Among the urban landscapes, Barcelona has the strongest presence, as the artist considers it "an open museum of modernism". She also highlights New York, for its skyscraper beauty and being a city that never sleeps, and Asian cities like Tokyo.
The sketches explore the city from an architectural perspective, featuring careful technical work on geometry and perspective. Nevertheless, for Caren, the true protagonists are the people who fill the streets with life, capturing human stories and everyday scenes.
