The electoral race for Junts in Barcelona gains a new chapter with the formalization of Glòria Freixa's candidacy for the party's primaries. Freixa aims to head the party's political project for the mayoralty in the upcoming municipal elections, joining the already announced candidacy of Jordi Martí Galbis.

Freixa's candidacy emerges with a "clear vocation for public service" and the desire to restore "a Barcelona with leadership, ambition, and city pride." The objective is to reposition the Catalan capital among major European cities, excelling in quality of life, innovation, coexistence, culture, and economic dynamism. Freixa has stated that her project seeks to integrate "all sensitivities within Junts per Catalunya" and build a proposal that is "broad, cohesive, and prepared to govern from centrality, experience, and proximity."

Freixa's proposal also calls for a break from the policies of the last two mayors, Jaume Collboni and Ada Colau. According to a statement, she considers a new political era "essential" that moves beyond inherited policies which, in her view, have led to the city's deterioration in areas such as housing, security, cleanliness, mobility, commerce, economic activity, and the loss of Catalan identity.

The candidacy concludes by stating its commitment to working for a Barcelona "that inspires again, a city that is friendly and soulful, an admired, competitive, and world-renowned capital."
