Protests began early in the morning with road blocks on major Barcelona highways. Unions reported an 85% turnout, while the Government estimated participation at 37%.

The Catalan Government has scheduled a meeting for February 19th to present a new proposal addressing the salary freeze that has lasted for 20 years.
