Junts per Catalunya MP Montse Ortiz demanded this Wednesday at the Parliament a reorganization of the railway network to prioritize 'forgotten regions' like Penedès over the current centralized model.

During the session in Barcelona, the representative from Vilafranca criticized the lack of government action regarding the mobility crisis. Ortiz argued that current connections are almost non-existent unless they follow a Barcelona-centric logic.

"Between 5:44 AM and 11:00 AM there are no direct trains to Tarragona, only combinations at Sant Vicenç de Calders."

The proposal includes promoting the Transversal Railway Axis to link inner Catalonia and establishing intermodal stations in strategic locations such as Vilafranca, Girona, or Tortosa.
