Barceloneta will host the traditional Cors Muts festival on May 23rd and 25th, 2026, an established celebration featuring parades, drumming, and fire points that will also extend to El Raval.

On May 23rd and 25th, 2026, the Barceloneta neighborhood will host the Cors Muts festival, a popular celebration over 150 years old that attracts an increasing number of visitors. The tradition, held around Easter, includes parades, costumes, and drumming.
On Saturday, May 23rd, various groups will participate in a parade through the neighborhood's streets from 8 AM to 3 PM. The route will affect several streets such as Ginebra street, Joan de Borbó promenade, and Barceloneta square, among others.
On Monday, May 25th, the festivities will continue with a second parade at 3:30 PM, following the same route. From 10 PM onwards, there will be fire points at various locations in the neighborhood, including Andrea Dòria street and Barceloneta square, extending the celebration until midnight.
Additionally, on the same Monday, May 25th, the El Raval neighborhood will also join the Cors Muts celebration. Starting at 7:30 PM, different choral groups such as Els Moderns de Poble Sec, Rosa d’Abril, and Girasol will carry out their own routes, bringing tools that reference the neighborhood's working-class past.
The tradition of the Cors, with over 150 years of history in Catalonia, dates back to the 17th century. In Barceloneta, evidence of this festival dates back to 1850, when fishermen traded fish for other goods. Today, the Cors are groups that bring joy to the streets with a humorous tone, maintaining the symbolism of labor professions and innovating with current themes.
