The La Bressola school network was honored this Monday with the 13th Martí Gasull i Roig Award in Barcelona for its commitment to the Catalan language.

Organized by Plataforma per la Llengua, the ceremony at Sala Paral·lel 62 recognized the institution's 50-year history. La Bressola won the public vote against the comic magazine Cavall Fort and the Centre Artesà Tradicionàrius cultural hub.

"Immersion works if it is total and absolute. If done halfway, it is bilingualism, and bilingualism is pure colonialism."

Other winners included Easy Catalan, which received the Innovation Award for its digital content. Additionally, the Special Jury Prize was awarded to Carlo Sechi, a prominent activist and former mayor of Alghero, for his lifelong dedication to the language in Sardinia.
