The neighborhood festivities in the Dreta de l'Eixample of Barcelona will take place from May 29 to 31, 2026. This year, the celebration once again includes the Modernist Fair, which will fill Girona Street, between Consell de Cent and Diputació, with cultural and period-themed activities.
The Modernist Fair will offer a glimpse into the past with period objects, gastronomic products, costumes, and music. The program will feature demonstrations of old crafts, classic car exhibitions, and traditional children's games, among other attractions.
The Festa Major activities will commence on Thursday, May 28, with a modernist itinerary at La Casa Elizalde and open-air cinema at Passeig Sant Joan. Friday, May 29, will include a visit to the Arús Library, traditional stick dancing, the youth opening speech, and the main Festa Major opening speech by Erik Harley, followed by concerts, a popular dinner, and musical bingo.
The weekend continues on Saturday, May 30, with children's workshops, face painting, a traditional Catalan human tower display (Diada Castellera), family musical bingo, a popular dinner, and concerts, including a performance by FUZZ Spencer, a Drag Queen cabaret, and DJ sets.
On Sunday, May 31, the festivities will conclude with a popular breakfast, a children's show, vermouth with a concert, a communal lunch, and a final batucada drum performance to mark the end of the celebration.
The Modernist Fair, which celebrated its 18th anniversary in 2025, will this year focus on honoring soprano Conxita Badia i Millàs and composer Maria Lluïsa Ponsa i Bassas. Visitors can expect stalls from artisans, merchants, and local professionals, as well as activities for children and a parade of vintage cars.
