The plenary session of the L'Hospitalet de Llobregat City Council has approved the modification of the urban plan to allow the Bellvitge Campus to grow by 75,000 square meters.

The measure, which affects the area housing the Bellvitge Hospital, the university campus, and several research centers, aims to increase the space available for healthcare, academic, and scientific activities.
In addition to the land rezoning, the council has formalized its participation as a founding member of the BioClúster Innovation and Health Association. This entity is launched in collaboration with institutions such as the Esplugues City Council, IDIBELL, the Catalan Institute of Oncology, the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital, and the University of Barcelona.
