The Ciutat de la Justícia in Barcelona has started the trial against a plastic surgeon accused of professional malpractice involving actress Blanca Espino in March 2015.

During the hearing, four surgical professionals testified that the damage to the plaintiff's chin originated from previous surgical procedures. Experts stated that the patient lost a specific anatomical area, causing her lip to drop, which led to eight subsequent reconstructive surgeries.

"If that had been the case, I would have stopped everything."

The defendant denied the allegations, claiming the actress already had a dropped lip during her first consultation, despite this not being recorded in her medical history. He also denied that the patient lost sensitivity after the initial procedure.
The decade-long ordeal has caused significant psychological distress for Blanca Espino, including psychiatric hospitalizations. The trial is expected to conclude on March 12 following expert testimony.
