Mayor Jaume Collboni met with the heads of Barcelona's waste management companies this Thursday to issue a formal warning against any decline in street cleaning standards.

The meeting served as a strategic move by the local government to ensure that the recent improvements in urban hygiene are sustained. Deputy Mayor Laia Bonet emphasized that the city cannot afford to relax its efforts as the municipal term enters its final phase.

"Citizens perceive that Barcelona is cleaner, but it is very easy to lose that positive perception again."

The administration highlighted that maintaining public spaces requires both efficient professional services and civic responsibility. The enforcement of the new Civic Ordinance is expected to play a key role in keeping the city's streets in optimal condition.
