Police investigate violent assault on elderly woman in Santa Coloma de Gramenet

The Mossos d'Esquadra are searching for a suspect following a violent attack on an elderly woman this Sunday afternoon in Santa Coloma de Gramenet, leaving her seriously injured.

The incident took place around 3:00 PM on Avinguda de la Generalitat. The victim sustained a neck wound and a broken nose during the assault. She was rushed by emergency services to the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital in Badalona.
While the primary investigation points towards a violent robbery, police are not ruling out other possibilities. The victim underwent surgery on Sunday and is currently reported to be in stable but serious condition.
