The ceremony, which will take place at the basilica in Barcelona, will be attended by top state and Generalitat authorities, as well as hundreds of bishops and cardinals from around the world. Capacity will be split between the interior of the temple and a space set up on Marina Street, where giant screens will be installed to follow the mass.
The management of the Construction Board has confirmed that efforts have been made to ensure citizen participation, distributing over a thousand invitations to local parishes. The cost of the tower's inauguration is estimated at 200,000 euros, while the total budget for the centenary events of Antoni Gaudí's death amounts to 3.2 million euros, funded by collaborating companies.
“"We have distributed 1,200 invitations to the parishes of Barcelona for them to share among the citizens."
Security protocols and traffic management in the area are still pending definition by the Barcelona City Council. Although final details remain under wraps, the day is expected to culminate with the special lighting of the tower and other surprises planned for the closing of the event.
