The Tower of Jesus at the Sagrada Familia has celebrated its city baptism with a massive popular culture parade through the streets of Barcelona, marking the papal blessing.

Following a blessing from Pope Leo XIV, the Tower of Jesus at the Sagrada Familia was officially christened this Sunday with a civic celebration. A popular culture parade, featuring groups of 'gegants' (giants) and 'capgrossos' (big-heads) from the city, paraded around the basilica to mark the inauguration of the highest point of the structure designed by Antoni Gaudí.
The festive procession began in the morning from Casa Batlló on Passeig de Gràcia, proceeding along Carrer Rosselló to the basilica. There, traditional dances were performed, and an offering was made at the architect's crypt, attended by the rector, Father Josep Maria Turull, and the Macers of Barcelona and the Gaudí giant from Riudoms.
The event saw the participation of numerous groups, including the giants of the City, El Pi, Santa Maria, Riudoms, La Pedrera, and the Sagrada Familia. The giants of Gràcia and Vilassar also joined, although they did not reach the basilica itself.

We must focus on celebrating popular culture and the completion of this emblematic work.

This cultural event is part of the celebration marking the completion of one of the most significant construction phases of the Sagrada Familia, attracting both local residents and the many tourists who visit Gaudí's masterpiece.
