Storm Nils has caused the cancellation of 53 flights at Barcelona-El Prat Airport this Thursday, alongside major disruptions to Rodalies commuter trains due to severe winds.

Airport operator Aena reported that wind gusts reached 92.5 km/h, leading to 53 cancellations and eight diversions to airports including Madrid and Valencia. Passengers are advised to check flight statuses before traveling.

Aena is reinforcing its ground teams to secure all equipment in the maneuvering area and prevent movement due to wind.

The rail network has also been hit, with fallen trees blocking the R11 line near Girona and the R4 line in Sant Feliu de Llobregat. Renfe has implemented emergency bus services for the affected sections.
