The inaugural night of the Gràcia Festivals has closed with a positive balance, without significant incidents and with a notable influx of visitors. The public success, as usual, caused the capacity of several streets to be exceeded, resulting in queues of approximately 30 minutes to access them.
Access control, a measure implemented some time ago, allowed for a more comfortable experience inside some streets such as Progrés street. However, in other streets, like Llibertat street, the density of people made mobility difficult.
Despite the waits, most visitors showed understanding of the situation, recognizing that queues are an inevitable consequence of the large number of people who come to admire the street decorations and enjoy the night concerts. Crowds have normalized, and many consider the effort worthwhile. "It was a bit of a wait but it was very much worth it because the work the streets have done is truly impressive and it impressed us a lot," commented an attendee.
With six days of festivities ahead, Saturday marked the official start after a sleepless night to finish the decorations. Commission members expressed their intention to enjoy the atmosphere, while others, like a young man from Llibertat street, stated their intention to stay until closing despite lack of sleep.
Saturday's program included the first fire events, and the festival continues on Sunday with the traditional casteller performance.
