On March 8, 1982, the Tívoli Theater in Barcelona hosted a massive event to demand the creation of public radio and television stations in the Catalan language.

The campaign, titled Volem la ràdio i la televisió catalanes ara!, brought together legendary musicians such as Lluís Llach, Joan Manuel Serrat, and Maria del Mar Bonet. At that time, the regional public broadcaster Catalunya Ràdio had not yet been established.
Hosted by Salvador Escamilla, the event also featured prominent actors like Rosa Maria Sardà and Núria Espert. It remains a symbolic moment for the defense of Catalan culture and its presence in the media landscape.
Additionally, the music world remembers March 9, 1997, as the day The Notorious B.I.G. was killed in Los Angeles. The Brooklyn rapper's death at age 25 marked the end of an era for hip-hop and the East Coast-West Coast rivalry.
