The University of Barcelona (UB) leads the classification of Catalan and Spanish institutions in the QS World University Rankings, reaching the 165th position globally. The UB has achieved an average score of 60.1 in this ranking.
Other Catalan universities also feature on the list: the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) is ranked 211th with 54.7 points, followed by the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) at number 263 with 49.7 points. The Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) is positioned at 434th with 35.4 points, and the Ramon Llull University (URL) at 474th with 33.5 points.
Further down the ranking, the Rovira i Virgili University (URV) is placed between 851st and 900th, the International University of Catalonia (UIC) between 901st and 950th, and the University of Lleida (UdL) between 1001st and 1200th.
Nationally, after the UB, the Complutense University of Madrid ranks 199th and the Autonomous University of Madrid 226th. The ranking analyzes over 1,500 higher education institutions worldwide, led by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, followed by Imperial College London and Stanford University.
