A fire in Badalona during the Sant Joan festival has led to the death of a dog from smoke inhalation, as confirmed by EL PERIÓDICO. The incident occurred in the early hours on Alfons XIII avenue, in the Sant Roc neighborhood.

In addition to the loss of the animal, three individuals suffered minor injuries and were attended by the Emergency Medical Service (SEM), who transported them to the Badalona Municipal Hospital.
The Sant Joan night also saw seven containers and six vehicles set ablaze. Despite these incidents, the mayor, Xavier Garcia Albiol, described the festival as "the quietest Sant Joan night in recent years," deeming the city's security operation a success.
Prior to the festival, Albiol had already announced restrictive measures, warning that "anyone coming to Badalona will not be allowed to bring alcohol or drugs." Local police set up checkpoints at various strategic points in the city, including train and metro station exits, and beach access and the beach itself, to confiscate any attempts to bring excessive alcoholic beverages.
