The race, which covered 19.6 kilometers through the streets of the Catalan capital, drew a large crowd of fans. The Dutch team set the fastest time of the day, allowing their leader to become the first leader of the cycling competition.
The stage podium was completed by other prominent teams from the international peloton. Ineos finished in second place, 8 seconds behind the winning time, while UAE Team Emirates completed the course with a 12-second deficit.
Meanwhile, Lidl-Trek completed their participation in this collective time trial 16 seconds slower than the winner, rounding out the top positions in the standings for this opening day in Barcelona.
