The accident occurred on Thursday while the employee was taking a break. Wind gusts reached 100 km/h in the Sant Andreu district, causing parts of the facade and roof to detach and strike the victim.

The Mossos d'Esquadra police are investigating the structural integrity of the building. Other serious injuries were reported across Catalonia, including a volunteer in Sant Boi de Llobregat hit by a falling tree.
