Barcelona Metro Line L3 halted circulation between Paral·lel and Passeig de Gràcia shortly after 3 PM on December 16, 2025, following an electrical breakdown at the Liceu station.

The disruption split the L3 service into two operational sections: trains are running between Zona Universitària and Paral·lel, and separately, between Passeig de Gràcia and Trinitat Nova. This situation left four major central stations without service.
The stations that were closed and evacuated are Paral·lel, Drassanes, Liceu, and Catalunya. Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) confirmed that passengers were safely removed from the facilities, which remain closed to the public.
The electrical failure at Liceu coincided with a separate incident caused by rain. Flooding on part of the track forced the partial closure of one platform at the station. The Barcelona Firefighters also intervened to manage the situation.
According to a user testimony shared via the X platform, some carriages stopped between Liceu and Catalunya, requiring passengers to manually force the doors open to exit the affected trains.
