The Catalan police issued a new appeal via the social network X on December 18, asking for public assistance to locate the young man, as more than two months have passed since his disappearance.
“"We continue searching for Younis, he may be disoriented and needs medication."
According to the description provided, Younis is 1.80 meters tall, has a slim build, and dark, curly hair. When last seen, he was wearing long denim trousers, a dark denim jacket, and sneakers.
This disappearance occurs amidst a complex reality in the Catalan capital. Last year, 719 disappearances were reported in Barcelona, an average of two per day, representing 20% of the total 3,785 cases registered across Catalonia.
Data from the Mossos d’Esquadra indicates that 98% of disappearances are resolved, with half of the cases closed within the first three days and 67% during the first week. 30% of cases required cross-departmental treatment involving various actors to support the affected families.
