Cycling fans in the Terres de l’Ebre region have cause for celebration, as the fifth stage of the Vuelta a España 2026 will take place entirely across the Costa Daurada and the Ebro territories.

The announcement has generated great anticipation in the area, especially in municipalities like Roquetes and Tortosa, where cycling enthusiasm is high. This will be a unique opportunity to see the best international riders up close competing in a familiar environment.

The presence of the Vuelta in the area is a major tourist and sporting boost for the entire province of Tarragona.

This decision is part of the Vuelta management's desire to promote routes through territories with a strong connection to the sport and which offer varied landscapes, from the coast to inland areas such as the Parc Natural dels Ports.
Although the exact start and finish points for the day have not yet been detailed, the confirmation that the stage will be fully contained within the region ensures a significant economic and media impact for the Baix Ebre and Montsià districts, establishing it as a key event of 2026.
