The Sant Andreu District unanimously approved on December 15 the renaming of the popular metro square to Plaça de l'Avenç de l'Sport, coinciding with the UESA centenary.

The new designation is incorporated into the official nomenclature of Sant Andreu de Palomar. The square in question hosts the entrance to the Onze de Setembre station, which serves metro lines L9 and L10 in Barcelona.
The approval was carried out during the District plenary session and received unanimous support from all groups. This decision comes at a key moment for the neighborhood's sports history.
The name change coincides with the celebration of the centenary of the merger that gave rise to the current Unió Esportiva Sant Andreu (UESA). The Plaça de l'Avenç de l'Sport will serve to recover the memory of one of the two founding clubs of the current 'quadribarrat' team, consolidating its historical legacy.
