Berga pays tribute to Ramon Calonge with an oil exhibition capturing the essence of La Patum

The Berguedà artist Ramon Calonge Casafont, born in 1929, exhibits twenty oil paintings about La Patum at the Museu Comarcal de Berga, coinciding with a tribute to his career.
Twenty oil paintings by the veteran artist Ramon Calonge Casafont offer a diverse and broad perspective on the Patum festival, capturing the light, color, and movement of the celebration. The exhibition, titled Olis de Patum, opened in February at the Museu Comarcal de Berga and will be open to the public until February 22.

During the inauguration, the Berga City Council and the Casal d’Europa del Berguedà paid tribute to the artist, presenting him with a commemorative plaque. Mayor Ivan Sànchez emphasized that Calonge is “one of the best painters in the history of our city.”

Ramon Calonge (Berga, 1929) is a self-taught artist with a long career, influenced by the Escola d’Olot and Joaquín Sorolla. His work has been exhibited in cities such as Olot, Manresa, and various galleries in Barcelona, in addition to being part of numerous private collections.
