The closure of the C-16 affects the stretch connecting Casserres and Berga, impacting traffic flow in both directions. This measure is required to carry out essential road surface repairs.
These repairs are a direct consequence of the farmers' protests, who blocked the road for several days in opposition to the trade agreement between the European Union and Mercosur.
The farmers decided to lift the road closures on Monday evening, following a meeting held with the President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa. The protesters on the AP-7 and the C-16 were the last groups to end their mobilization.
According to the Servei Català de Trànsit (SCT), properly signposted detours have been established to minimize disruption for drivers traveling through the Berguedà area.
