Barcelona skier Albert Ortega, representing La Molina Club d'Esquí, secured 23rd place in the Giant Slalom World Cup event held in Adelboden, Switzerland, on Saturday, January 10, 2026.

Ortega, starting with a high bib number (45), managed to qualify for the second run thanks to an excellent final sector, finishing 29th in the first descent with a time of 1:16.95. This marks the second time the Catalan skier has qualified for the second run in this specialty, following his previous result in Copper Mountain, USA.

"It has been a day of extreme fighting, with a very good first run and some mistakes in the second. We have achieved a top-25 and we must continue this dynamic."

The event was dominated by Swiss athlete Marco Odermatt, who claimed victory for the fifth consecutive year. Ortega, who aims to compete in the upcoming Milan-Cortina Olympic Games, expressed satisfaction with his performance as a major step forward.
