The town of Bagà hosted the awards ceremony for the Fia-faia photography contest this Saturday, recognizing the authors of the best images of the traditional torch descent.

The event, held at the Palau dels Pinós in Bagà, served to honor the 'fallaires' (torch bearers) who have maintained their loyalty and commitment to the tradition of descending with torches from the Siti over the 25 recovered editions. This ceremony takes place on the afternoon of December 24, when the torches are lit, forming a "serpent of fire" down to the Plaça Galceran de Pinós.
Regarding the photography contest, in the Bagà category, the winning image chosen by the technical jury was La flama és viva, by Carlos Moreira, which scored 64 points. In the Sant Julià de Cerdanyola category, the jury selected Vigília de foc, by Marissa Ros, with 68 points.

The plasticity of the torch descent, which marks the path with a serpent of fire, is the central element captured by the photographers.

The popular vote also determined winners. In Bagà, the photograph La muntanya encesa, by Xavier Sánchez, received 72 votes (28.3% of the total). In Sant Julià de Cerdanyola, the work On tot comença, by Axel Lapuerta, was the most voted, receiving 100 votes (30.1%).
