These apartment blocks, which were left as unfinished concrete structures almost two decades ago due to the economic crisis, could finally see completion. The proposal, detailed in a talk at the fair's Speakers Corner, focuses on bioconstruction and energy efficiency.
“"The primary objective is to save the constructed structure, but to do so with different enclosures and materials, locally sourced, of natural, plant origin, and related to renewables."
The project is at a crucial stage, defining materials for walls and enclosures, and negotiating with the City Council to obtain building permits. Professionals assure that the buildings will have maximum energy efficiency, capable of functioning without conventional heating.
The completion of the 57 homes is planned in phases. A first stage will include 16 apartments, with an estimated execution period of one year once permits are obtained. In addition to the homes, the project includes commercial premises on the ground floors of Avinguda Catalunya and an underground parking level.
The promoters highlighted that, although prices cannot yet be precisely calculated, efforts will be made to align them with those of conventionally built apartments. This presentation at Firhàbitat was considered a "declaration of intent" for the future of the 40 Pilans.
“"The balance we make is extraordinarily positive. It will undoubtedly be the best edition of Firhàbitat."
The director of Firhàbitat, Rosa Prat, emphasized the constant growth of the sector and the interest from both exhibitors and visitors. For her part, the mayor of Avià, Patrocini Canal, highlighted the involvement of the local school and the importance of welcoming young people and professionals in a growing sector, contributing to improving sustainability.
