The traditional cavalry parade of the La Corrida festival in Puig-reig successfully took place on Sunday despite the drizzle, although the afternoon races were canceled due to the forecast of intense rainfall.

The parade, considered the central event of the La Corrida festival, featured the participation of about forty carriages and approximately 110 animals, including horses, donkeys, mules, and ponies. This procession along Llobregat Avenue in Puig-reig keeps alive the tradition linked to Sant Antoni and the Tres Tombs.
This year, the municipal corporation made history by handing over the standards to three women for the first time: Carme Rosell (representing the horses), Francesca Dolla (the mules), and Aina Pareja (the donkeys). The parade started with a slight delay and a modified route to avoid steep descents due to the light rain.

The forecast of intense precipitation forced the cancellation of the horse, donkey, and pony races that were scheduled to take place in the afternoon, shortening the festive day.

One of the most anticipated moments was the traditional ribbon game, where riders attempted to hit the hanging ring with a stick. Even the priest, Mossèn Josep Solà i Casals, was present to bless the participants and animals, despite having to wear a hooded anorak due to the bad weather.
