The Montclar Town Council has finalized the digital transformation of its entire drinking water network, a crucial project to ensure sustainable resource management in the Berguedà region.

The project, costing over 115,000 euros and funded by the Barcelona Provincial Council, replaces obsolete systems from two decades ago. The new infrastructure provides real-time data on reservoir levels and water flow across the municipality's extensive distribution lines.

"We have a clear commitment to efficiency and sustainability, and the renewal of the system was a priority for this term."

By installing IoT smart meters in every household, the council can now detect leaks or irregular usage immediately. Residents can also monitor their hourly consumption through the Aigua Montclar app, allowing for better individual control of water usage.
