An intense windstorm has hit Berguedà, generating 56 calls to the Fire Department, with most incidents concentrated in Berga, where strong gusts have caused significant material damage, including torn-off roofs and traffic disruptions.

The effects of the windstorm have been particularly severe in the Berguedà region, where emergency services have responded to a total of 56 calls. The city of Berga has been the most affected, registering 38 of these incidents, primarily related to damage to roofs and other structural elements.
Among the most notable damages in the Berguedan capital, a section of the roof of the construction materials company Novellas, located on Mestre Pedret street in the Santa Eulàlia neighborhood, detached. Similarly, the metal plates from the roof of the municipal brigade's warehouse, near the Fire Department station, also gave way to the strong winds, an incident that had occurred fifteen days prior.
The Serra de Noet Institute also suffered the consequences of the storm, with a section of its roof detaching. The wind's effects extended to the Valldan industrial estate, where several businesses were affected, and a maximum gust of 127 km/h was recorded. The Berga City Council had to close traffic on Roser street, between Plaça dels Països Catalans and Cervantes street, after the wind ripped off a garage door.

The worst of the windstorm has passed, but an orange alert remains for the rest of Sunday and a yellow alert for Monday, as some strong gusts will persist in Berguedà.

Outside the urban area, the Queralt sanctuary recorded the most intense wind gusts, remaining above 100 km/h throughout the morning and reaching a peak of 168.5 km/h, according to Meteocat data. Despite the storm's severity, forecasts from the Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya indicate that the most critical phase has passed, although strong wind warnings remain for the rest of Sunday and for Monday.
