The Cerdanya County Archive has officially incorporated the Subirana de Das family documentary fund, a significant historical collection donated by the Vidal Arderiu family in March 2026.

Found in the attic of the Cal Subirana farmhouse, the collection features 24 parchments, the oldest dating back to the 14th century. These records provide a detailed look into the lives of a prominent lineage of landowners who played a key role in the region's history.

"The relevance of this fund goes far beyond the Subirana family. It is a clear example of how large family estates were managed in Cerdanya."

Erola Simon · Director of the Cerdanya County Archive
The archive allows for a genealogical study of eight generations, starting with Jaume Subirana around 1630. The family held properties in Das, Montellà, Puigcerdà, and Alp, and included notable professionals such as doctors and lawyers.
