The Cerdanya County Archive in Puigcerdà has officially incorporated the Subirana de Das family documentary collection, a significant historical donation covering eight generations of local landowners.

The collection was donated by Eduard Vidal Arderiu, whose family purchased the Cal Subirana estate in 1947. The documents, discovered in the farmhouse attic in Das, include 24 medieval parchments, the oldest of which date back to the 14th century.

"This collection is a clear example of how large family estates were managed in the region and allows for a snapshot of Cerdanya society."

Erola Simon · Director of the Cerdanya County Archive
The Subirana lineage included prominent lawyers and doctors who owned properties in Alp, Montellà, and Puigcerdà. This donation is particularly valuable as the archive holds few private patrimonial collections that document the social links of the local elite during the 17th and 18th centuries.
