Institutions in the Cerdanya valley have activated a working plan to implement the IMPACT European program, focusing on medical and social cooperation across the border.

The Cerdanya Transfrontier Hospital serves as the epicenter of this initiative, which aims to improve public services and opportunities for residents on both sides of the border. The project is supported by local and national authorities from Catalonia and France.
Key figures including Isidre Chia, president of the Cerdanya County Council, and Xavier Conill, director of the hospital, met with Puigcerdà mayor Juan Manel Serra and French representatives to formalize the commitment to this integrated territorial strategy.
The IMPACT project is funded by the EU Interreg Mediterranean program. It focuses on fostering innovation, sustainability, and social cohesion by developing shared governance models and improving infrastructure in border regions.
