This proposal targets businesses with direct contact with visitors, such as accommodations, activity companies, museums, visitable facilities, or shops, which can act as complementary information points to existing tourist offices.
The main objective of the PITC is to optimize the quality of visitor reception, facilitate access to information, and consolidate a unified image of Cerdanya as a cohesive and sustainable destination. Furthermore, the program promotes cooperation between public and private agents and contributes to the professionalization of the local tourism sector.
Establishments that join the program will receive accreditation as Tourist Information Points, committing to provide basic, truthful, and updated data on the region's resources. In return, they will receive an official distinctive badge, access to informative materials, and visibility through official channels, including the cerdanya.org website.
As part of the program's rollout, a training session for the tourism sector will be held on Tuesday, April 21. This training, taking place from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Sala Pilar Prim of the Puigcerdà Library, is the first step to obtaining accreditation and is an essential requirement for initial participation.
During the session, participants will gain knowledge about the operation and objectives of the PITC, the network of tourist offices in Cerdanya, the main tourist attractions of the territory, and the informative resources available to visitors.
