Train services on the R3 line connecting Ripoll, Puigcerdà, and Latour-de-Carol will remain suspended until Spring 2026 due to essential structural maintenance.

Infrastructure manager Adif has decided to advance repair works on the Toses and Ribes de Freser tunnels. Originally scheduled for next year, these tasks will now be carried out alongside ongoing repairs caused by recent storm damage in the Ripollès region.
The project includes high-pressure water cleaning, ground consolidation, and waterproofing to prevent leaks. These preventive measures aim to extend the operational life of the tunnels, which are vital for the cross-border connection with France.
This section of the line previously underwent a major 9.5 million euro renovation between June 2020 and April 2021, focusing on structural reinforcement and overhead line replacement.
