Students from several rural schools in Alt Urgell and Cerdanya have been participating for four years in the Camins Vells initiative to recover and adopt historic trails in their area.

This educational and environmental proposal, promoted by Guies de Muntanya en Ruta and supported by Idapa, aims to turn young people into forest guardians by revitalizing disused routes.

"They promote effort and teamwork, while connecting with the past through the stories told by the elderly."

Participating schools include Ridolaina, Rosa Campà, Portella Blanca, and Sant Serni. For one week, students work on orientation and interview local seniors to learn about the traditional uses of these paths.
